Dr. Telmo Coelho is a specialist in Psychiatry with 15 years of medical practice. His career is marked by extensive and solid clinical experience acquired in hospital, community, forensic, and institutional settings in Portugal. He obtained his specialization in Psychiatry from the Centro Hospitalar de São João with high distinction, having completed comprehensive and diverse training covering inpatient care, day hospital, community psychiatry, liaison psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, addictive behaviors, and neurology.
Currently, he has extensive professional experience as a Hospital Assistant Physician at the Armed Forces Hospital in Porto, where he serves as Director of the Psychiatry Department. There, he conducts clinical work in outpatient consultations, the emergency department, and liaison psychiatry.
Dr. Coelho also possesses extensive expertise in forensic psychiatry. He serves as an expert for the Social Security Disability Assessment Service and regularly collaborates with courts and correctional facilities. In this capacity, he conducts forensic evaluations and prepares specialized clinical reports for legal and administrative purposes.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with various hospitals, private clinics and social institutions, notably engaging in psychiatric support for vulnerable populations.
